Lost Camper Plan
All staff shall be trained in the Lost Camper Plan.
In the event that a camper becomes lost or unaccounted for, the Lost Camper Plan shall immediately be enacted. This shall include the following:
- Provide and maintain adequate supervision for all campers.
- Using the camp roster, confirm the identity of the missing camper.
- Notify the Camp Director.
- Begin a search, making sure to check any high risk area first.
- Interview staff and campers in an attempt to determine the last known whereabouts of the missing camper.
- If out of camp, the assistance of the facility being visited shall be requested.
- Maintain the supervision of campers and widen the search area.
- If the camper remains unaccounted for, the Police will be notified via 911.
- Parents/Guardians shall be notified.
- Notify the Health Department.
