Lost Camper Plan

All staff shall be trained in the Lost Camper Plan.

In the event that a camper becomes lost or unaccounted for, the Lost Camper Plan shall immediately be enacted. This shall include the following:

Provide and maintain adequate supervision for all campers.
Using the camp roster, confirm the identity of the missing camper.
Notify the Camp Director.
Begin a search, making sure to check any high risk area first.
Interview staff and campers in an attempt to determine the last known whereabouts of the missing camper.
If out of camp, the assistance of the facility being visited shall be requested.
Maintain the supervision of campers and widen the search area.
If the camper remains unaccounted for, the Police will be notified via 911.
Parents/Guardians shall be notified.
Notify the Health Department.
