Camp Safety
- SUPERVISION - If campers are supervised - campers will be safe!
- ATTENDANCE is to be taken at assembly and given to Division Head.
- Do HEAD COUNT at every activity and while moving from one activity to another.
- When moving as a group - keep group together with one staff member as a LEADER and one staff member at the END of the group.
- NEVER allow campers to walk anywhere unescorted.
- CITs are never to be alone with a group or individual child.
- Group leader and counselors must be with the group during playground, lunch, and swim change. No breaks may be taken during those activities.
- Each staff member may take one 25 minute break during the day.
A break may be taken during an activity in which the specialty instructor is supervising the group along with a group staff member that is over 16 years old.
- IF A CHILD IS LOST - ENACT LOST CAMPER PLAN.
- ACTIVITIES - ALL Staff and ALL Campers must participate in ALL ACTIVITIES - NO ONE SITS OUT!
- SUPPORT SPECIALTY STAFF in assisting at each activity by promoting their guidelines and instructions.
- Staff Members should play at campers' skill level.
- Help all campers use equipment APPROPRIATELY to avoid accidents.
- Spot in Playground and Ropes Course
- Have campers wear safety equipment - helmets, goggles, knee pads, etc. - to help prevent injury.
