Physical Abuse

Physical abuse includes anything done to inflict pain on a camper.

Any type of physical abuse is extremely inappropriate and intolerable in the camp environment.

If a child or staff member arrives at camp with signs of abuse, such as bruises, marks, or cuts, the camper or staff member should be taken to the nurse for evaluation.

PHYSICAL ABUSE INCLUDES BEHAVIORS SUCH AS:

• hitting or spanking
• pushing or shoving
• shaking
• wrestling
• arm grabbing or twisting
• tickling, pantsing, wedgies, pink bellies
• any form of hazing
