Speaking and Taking Turns

• Create a system for talking, in order to prevent children from talking out of turn and not listening.
• You may use the silence system to get started.



• Have an object (football, stuffed animal, etc.) and establish a rule by which someone can only talk if they are holding said object; children can pass the object around or raise their hand if they have something to say.



• This is to help the kids stay focused and listen as well as to prevent you from yelling; however, it's impossible to expect young children to remain perfectly still and quiet the entire time.
